On Tuesday, Nov. 19, authorities announced the arrests of Fitzhugh Godwin IV, 22, and Marcus Elliott, 28 following a weeks-long investigation into a shooting earlier this year.
The arrests stem from the Sept. 28 incident where two juveniles were shot while sitting in a parked car on Wythe Street. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, one in critical condition and the other in stable condition.
Godwin was charged with two counts of malicious wounding and one count of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Elliott faces multiple charges, including:
Two counts of malicious wounding;
- Two counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony;
- Conspiracy to commit malicious wounding;
- Shooting into an occupied vehicle;
- Violent felon in possession of a firearm.
